Alexandra’s favourite school subject is
1) Maths.
2) Languages.
3) Science.
Neil: Hi! I often see you here. Why don’t you go home after your lessons?
Alexandra: Oh, I just enjoy doing my homework in the school library. It’s quiet here. And nothing distracts me. And you are Neil, aren’t you? You are my brother’s classmate, right?
Neil: Yes. Max and I are classmates. And we also play for our school football team.
Alexandra: I’m Alexandra.
Neil: I know. I often see you and Max on the school bus together.
Alexandra: Yes, we live far from the school and the bus is the only option.
Neil: You are in Ms. Clark’s class, aren’t you?
Alexandra: Yes. She is our Science teacher.
Neil: You are lucky she is your teacher. She taught us too, and I’m still keen on Science. Though not as much as on Maths.
Alexandra: I love Science, especially the lab experiments. But Maths is too difficult and boring to me. There are too many things you need to remember.
Neil: It requires concentration, that’s true. But what doesn’t? Even in French classes, we need to remember all those endless grammar rules.
Alexandra: Are you going to university after school? Like my brother? He wants to be a surgeon and wants to study medicine.
Neil: I know. Max is very ambitious and I think he’ll be a good doctor, or anything else. He could be a good manager as well. Or a lawyer. I’m not like him. To be frank, I’m crazy about cars and motorcycles.
Alexandra: Are you?
Neil: Yes. And I’m pretty positive about my future job. I’m going to work in my uncle’s car service, as a mechanic. I actually often help them there when I have time.
Alexandra: Oh, Max mentioned you worked miracles with his bicycle. It’s better than a new one now.
Neil: Tonight one of my friends is arranging a pizza-party, in my honour. I fixed his electric bike which had been broken for a year.
Alexandra: Wow! Now I know who to call when anything is wrong with my bike.
Neil: Please do. And, sorry, Alexandra, I must be off right now. I’m almost late for my training.
Alexandra: Are you going to the stadium, with Max?
Neil: Yes. You know that we train every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
And there’s no chance of skipping a day now. Our coach is very strict about everything as we are playing in the semi-final next Sunday.
Alexandra: Good luck then! And tell Max not to be late for dinner. Our grandparents are coming.
Neil: Ok. I’ll remind him.
