Dialogue A

A: We need to weigh it first and then I’ll tell you the exact price.

B: OK. There are only books in there, but they may be heavy.

A: We’ll see. Now fill in this form, please. Your name goes here, and the addressee’s information goes there, on those lines.

B: Yeah, I’ve got it. How long will it take the parcel to get there?

A: Two or three days. We can do it faster but it will be more expensive.

B: No, no need. Two or three days is OK for me.

Dialogue B

A: Excuse me, can I see that book please?

B: This one?

A: No, the one to the right. Next to the thick green encyclopedia.

B: Ok. Here you are. This is also a kind of encyclopedia but it’s for children and it focuses on animals - living and endangered.

A: Right. It looks exactly what I need for my nephew. I’m looking for a birthday present for him … and… I think this will perfectly suit his interests.

B: If you’ve got our customer loyalty card, the price will be 15% lower than you see on the book.

Dialogue C

A: Are you enjoying yourself?

B: Oh, yes! It was very nice of Tim to invite me and I’m glad to meet his old friends here.

A: And we are glad to meet his new friends. Tim and me… we’ve known each other for ten years already.

B: Have you? What was he like when he was a small child?

A: Well… he liked books and animals and football. In primary school, his favourite book was Winnie-the-Pooh. Like the bear, Tim has always liked honey.

B: Oh, I know. I bet the cake today is some sort of honey cake too!

A: We’ll see it soon!

Dialogue D

A: Oh, no! I’ve forgotten my book at home.

B: The Science textbook?

A: Yeah.

B: It’s not a problem. We can share mine.

A: But it is a problem. Mrs Grey never allows us to change seats. She’s got a sort of a system for how students should be placed to get the best result.

B: I doubt that. Anyway, we can ask for her permission to sit together. I’m sure she won’t mind.
