You are going to give a talk about animals. You will have to start in 1.5 minutes and speak for not more than 2 minutes (10−12 sentences).
Remember to say:
— what wild animals live in your region;
— whether it is a good idea to keep a wild animal as a pet, and why;
— why people build zoos in cities and towns;
— what your attitude to zoos is.
You have to talk continuously.
There are different wild animals in Leningradskaya region. I have seen foxes, hares, snakes and I know there are moose, boars and even bears in our forests. Last year I saw a moose running along a big road, it was both exciting and frightening. To my mind, keeping a wild pet as an animal is cruel because you cannot provide it enough space and give it a life it is used to. Moreover, it is dangerous, even small wild animals can bite their owners, to say nothing of big ones. If you wa nt to see a wild animal you can always visit a zoo. Surely, zoos in Russia normally are too small and animals do not get enough space but it is better than keeping them in a flat. Zoos are good for educational reasons, they provoke interest in the nature. Though I think that zoos should be reorganized. The animals should be kept not in cages but in big areas where they can live almost the same as in wildlife.
